FA Cup final LIVE – Liverpool vs Chelsea team news, travel, build-up, TV channel and kick-off time

Johnson: I expect a close game

Former Liverpool star Glen Johnson has named the players who could decide this afternoon’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

The Reds take on Chelsea at Wembley later today but the former defender expects a close game. Fabinho is a key player for Liverpool so will be a huge miss as he recovers from injury.

Johnson also named Mason Mount as a big threat to Chelsea and said he must play well if the London club are to win.

He told Lord Ping: “Like most finals, I can imagine it being a little wary at first, but they’re two good teams.

“Liverpool are in a better position at the moment, but listen, in a final they’re both good enough to beat anybody – I expect a close game.

“For me I would say the game changers for Liverpool will be the top three Liverpool and Fabinho if he’s fit enough to play. I think he’s been brilliant for them, he does the ugly stuff like people call it, but he also breaks things down so quickly that teams can’t gain momentum. If Mane and Salah are shooting as well, it will be hard enough for any defense to stop them.

“Mason Mount is so important to everything that Chelsea do well. Every time they go forward or counterattack, all the good times in a game that he’s usually involved in, so I think if they want to win the FA Cup, he has to play well.”
